Check us out! New photos for us! Ready to be turned into posters for our next round of gigs! And, who knows, maybe a CD! Thanks Doug Baz, photographer extraordinaire!
Thanks for the video Jordan.
Our Klezmer Band will be opening for the magnificent and fiery Raya Brass Band at the Black Swan in Tivoli on Sunday evening September 4.
There will be lots of Eastern European music. Lots of dancing. And I hear there might even be dinner.
What a great way to close the summer season! Will post more details as they are available.

It is truly winter here in the mid-Hudson Valley. Lots of snow and ice and cold. But it is warm in the Elmendorph Inn next to the IGA in Red Hook, NY. There is hot soup and baked goods, local veggies from our farmers’ root cellars, wool, meat, and more . . . plus the thing that warms my heart most: MUSIC. We’ll be upstairs this morning playing some of our favorite tunes including some new ones!
Yesterday the band played at the Beekman Arms as part of the Sinterklaas Celebration Day in Rhinebeck, New York. All of town was bustling with events — storytellers, music, dance, kids everywhere making crowns to wear in the parade, watching wide-eyed as performers spun fire in the air, swallowed swords, danced in wild outfits (that would be the Grumpuses) in the middle of the street to the fiery sounds of Balkan tune provided by the Raya Brass Band. A tightrope walker, a brass band on stilts, hot chocolate, everyone smiling, and then the parade. From the opening words of the day to the closing ceremony — it was an amazing, thrilling and beautiful day! Thanks to my band mates for coming out and making music. Thanks to all the tireless organizers and volunteers who make this all possible.
Thanks to Andy Milford we have a nice VIDEO of the band playing Turk in America — a snippet of it. It’s from the day at the Stone Ridge Orchard’s Apple Festival. Enjoy!

Thanks to Andy Milford for this beautiful photo of the band playing at the Stone Ridge Orchard.

The band had a great time at the Stone Ridge Cider Festival. Hosted with graciousness by Elizabeth Ryan and her staff. Special thanks to Ron for the sound. And the pizza — the most delicious pizza made in a wood fire oven. The cider tastings were fabulous. There’s a lot to learn about making hard cider. Local goat cheese and other snacks. And did I mention the pizza. Yum. We had a blast.
